Budget 2017: Dorset Reaction
The chancellor’s decision to immediately abolish stamp duty for most first-time buyers has been welcomed after a budget which contained gloomy growth forecasts.
Those taking their first step on the housing ladder will not have to pay any stamp duty on purchase prices up to £300,000, meaning 80 percent will pay nothing at all.

A long-established aviation company based at Bournemouth Airport has secured a licence to operate pleasure flights.  They also offer a bespoke VIP service where clients can effectively rent the whole helicopter. Photography flights will also be available.

Hampshire-based Haworth Castings has been acquired by Ilfracombe-based investment casting company Investacast, under the ownership of Expromet, for an undisclosed sum.
A family-run business, Haworth Castings operates from an aluminium- and copper-based sand foundry in Romsey and a precision machining facility in Basingstoke.

Brexit: JP Morgan could shed jobs ‘within months’
Bournemouth’s biggest private employer JP Morgan has reportedly told the American government that it could start moving jobs out of the UK.

A consortium of banks including JP Morgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and HSBC warned US commerce secretary Wilbur Ross that they might start moving staff abroad in the near future, it has been reported.
